Three humanoid robots. Three countries. Three national firsts. Over eight months, robots built by Vandri Robotics walked into the news in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the recap, with a link to the original outlet behind every claim.

Two companies, one core

Vandri is two branches around one core.

Vandri Robotics builds and deploys the robots you have seen in the press: humanoid and service robots. Vandri d.o.o. is the AI software studio that builds the brains and the voice inside them. When you read that a robot "talks," "understands" or "knows 60 languages," that is the Vandri software layer at work.

The robots live at vandri-robotics.com. What that software does for ordinary businesses is covered in our companion piece, from humanoid robots to enterprise AI.

Jože: the first humanoid robot in Slovenia

Jože made his public debut at Game Changer Ljubljana 3.0 in November 2025, presented as the first Slovenian humanoid robot with a local personality (Ljubljanainfo, 24 November 2025).

Days later he was on national television. On the POP TV show 24UR ZVEČER, Jože traded lines with the hosts and, with Ljubljana wit, called people "irrational biological machines" (24UR / POP TV, 27 November 2025).

In April 2026 Jože became the first robot on a Slovenian theatre stage, performing with students from Gimnazija Slovenske Konjice in a play about AI and humanity (Lokalec, 11 April 2026).

Then came the news that traveled furthest. Jože is set to become Europe's first humanoid hotel receptionist at Hotel Bled Rose, greeting guests in more than 60 languages on an in-house cognitive platform (Forbes Slovenija, 27 June 2026).

Behind the robot is a founder profile too: the story of a young engineer from Slovenske Konjice and his company building Slovenia's first humanoid (Svet24, 15 February 2026).

Tonka: the first humanoid robot in Croatia

In mid-January 2026, Tonka walked through Zagreb's Upper Town and turned heads on the city's Saturday promenade, covered as the first Croatian humanoid robot (Index.hr, 31 January 2026). Tech portal tportal sat down for an interview and reported that Tonka likes to walk, shop and dance (tportal, 16 January 2026).

Forbes Hrvatska framed the bigger plan: the first humanoid robot in Croatia, with more models on the way to Pakrac (Forbes Hrvatska, 16 January 2026).

The peak came on 6 February 2026. At the National Council for Digital Transformation, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković spoke directly with Tonka, a moment carried by public broadcaster HRT (HRT, 6 February 2026).

Roby: the first humanoid robot in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In February 2026, Roby toured Bosnia and Herzegovina as the country's first humanoid robot: Mostar, Sarajevo and Banja Luka over two days. The debut reached a pan-European audience through Euronews, which noted the robot was developed by Vandri Robotics (Euronews, 12 February 2026).

At home the tour was everywhere. Klix.ba, the country's leading news portal, covered Roby's Sarajevo arrival, where the robot praised ćevapi and danced to Kemal Monteno (Klix.ba, 11 February 2026). N1 filmed Roby moving through Baščaršija (N1 BiH, 11 February 2026), and in Banja Luka, Roby stepped into a live TV studio and danced on air (ATV Banja Luka, 11 February 2026).

What the coverage adds up to

Three national firsts in three markets, from national TV and Forbes to a sitting prime minister and Euronews. The common thread is not a stunt. It is a working voice AI platform that Vandri d.o.o. builds and Vandri Robotics puts on legs. If you know Vandri from the robots and want to know what the software does for a company, read from humanoid robots to enterprise AI.
